We first performed this song at Mr. Beery's without any lyrics, just jibberish, and no one was the wiser. We then performed an early version at AMH with Steve on vocals. Lots of different lyrics were written. One about my hair loss, one about getting drunk. Finally, while recording scratch tracks, Mike thought I was saying "Don't pressure me to be!" Instead of "Don't pressure me toupee" (I said it was about my hair for a little while...) One week later, the lyrics you hear on the record were born out of that mistake. As for the title, EJ accidentally called our music "Punch Rock" instead of punk rock. Took three seconds for that to become the title of the fastest song on the record. 320 BPM, by the way.
