about
Two years ago I went to a concert. I felt like I was the only person there who wasn't either 14 or a parent of the 14 year olds. It was then when I really felt that in-between feeling. I was not a kid anymore; I was out of college, had a job, all that, but I lived with my parents, so I couldn't truly feel like an adult either. I wondered why there weren't any songs about that (this was pre-Stressed Out by 21 Pilots). I realized I could write that song! I wrote most of the lyrics at that concert in between acts. There's a shout out to the band I saw hidden In the song.
lyrics
On the corner of confusion and Stewart Avenue
Find me jumping to illusions
On the road to something new
It’s a shame that I couldn’t meet you on the line
Waiting maybe for a call out
Like a passionate plea
Hiding deep within the Fallout
Boy it sucks being 23
In a state of intellectual decline
It is weighing on my mind
Because I’m starting to realize my intuition
It’s jarring and hanging on my inhibition
I’m right between the lines, a paranoia undefined
Cause I don’t know what to say
I think I’m ready for the next thing
I just don’t know what that is
I guess this will be interesting
Is it ignorance or bliss staring blindly into the unknown?
Since I’m giving in my two cents
I should say that I’m getting bored
Cause stability’s a nuisance
Pulling slack out of the cord.
One more pull until I’m all alone
I am breathing on my own
Because I’m starting to realize my intuition
It’s jarring and hanging on my inhibition
I’m right between the lines, a paranoia undefined
Cause I don’t know what to say
I’m coming down, I’m coming down
I’m coming down, I’m coming down
I’m coming down, I’m coming down
I’m coming down, I’m coming down
Because I’m starting to realize my intuition
It’s jarring and hanging on my inhibition
I’m right between the lines, a paranoia undefined
Cause I don’t know who I am
